“A sense of connection — between employees, customers, users — begets stupendous results. I drive human engagement within digital communities, organizations, between people of disparate perspectives. When people are engaged, when they really get going, the results are out of control.”

What happens when organizations unleash the power of human connection among their customers and employees? True human connection isn’t transactional. It’s not something that can be implemented with artificial intelligence or algorithms. Innate insight into human nature is a rare gift, one that Trove partner, Vicki, was born to share.

Viki has made her mark designing, developing, and serving as the face of dynamic digital and offline communities. Her efforts have generated powerful engagement, unique feedback loops, and tremendous word of mouth and referral growth for her organizations. Her accomplishments include cultivating communities of digital nomads (Remote Year), medical students (Osmosis), and 9/11 first responders (Tunnel to Tower Foundation), as well as spearheading employee engagement and coaching efforts that have resulted in dramatically improved retention and professional growth for employees.

Most recently, Viki inherited a fledgling micro-community of global medical students. She set out to nurture authentic brand loyalty, grow community and product engagement, and drive new user referrals. As she became deeply acquainted with each person, Viki cultivated trust, equity, and sense of belonging among community members. On that foundation she designed a calendar and engagement strategy that delivered astounding results: off the charts word of mouth growth, deeply engaged users, and a net promoter score more than double the national average for her vertical.

Born from her experiences bringing people together as a community strategist, Anderson Street is Viki’s proudest accomplishment. Like many of us, she is deeply troubled by the divisions within our society, and she is convinced that poor communication and the inability to question one’s own beliefs is a root cause. Anderson Street brought together people with diverse perspectives to engage in candid discourse. By cultivating an environment of authenticity, discussion, and empathy, it created a safe space for uncomfortable and uncharted conversations, helping people learn about themselves and become more open-minded, informed citizens of humanity. The impact has been profound. Anderson Street was featured in a web series festival, has won numerous awards, and raised funding to grow its reach and impact.

Recently Viki made the leap and branched out on her own. Tapping into her deep experience as a community strategist, she serves as a consultant to organizations looking to leverage the power of community to drive impact through community advising, engagement VIP Day offerings, and community manager coaching. She is also the co-host of Community Alchemy, a podcast about community fails, spilled tea, and knowledge drops oriented to  scrappy, curious, and veracious community builders. Most significantly, this work has enabled Viki to cultivate her zone of genius, specifically speaking, facilitation, and coaching. She now also has a loyal client base that calls on her to drive employee engagement, design and facilitate all-hands events, and coach employees on conscious leadership, personal advocacy, public speaking, and giving and receiving feedback. Or as Viki describes it: enabling authentic human engagement.
